Will the end of 2016 be the end of the era for many of you? Is 2017 going to be the year you truly turn over a new leaf and begin to make some positive changes in your life? I’ll be honest with you, I’m still mulling over what to do in my own life. Being a woman in this day and age, jostling for position among the men of the world for a head start in one’s career is not a joke. Hi there all. How do you like my icebreaker to this series of articles I’m writing about healthy living? I like to get things moving with one or two questions.
While I’m asking my readers pertinent questions, I’m also challenging myself as well. The questions on healthy living aspects to look forward to in 2017 might look that way to some, but let me assure you, readers that they are not at all imposing. Oh, and I hope you’ve all got a good sense of humor. I like to insert something a little on the funny side when it seems relevant to the topic under discussion or a striking thought or two being made about healthy living in general. So, at this point, this is where you can all start to relax.
Here, we are not going on a witch-hunt, pointing fingers at those who are atrociously out of shape, mainly because they have been recklessly irresponsible in their lives. Here we share love and understanding for each other’s problems and we try to help each other out. We’re not professionals in the strictest sense of the word but what we are, are communicative and highly garrulous motivators. Our motivations are towards our nearest mates and towards our own selves. We all want to get into shipshape, don’t we?
We’re also finding it difficult to get it right most of the time. That’s why group therapy is always handy. Okay girls, let’s all have a group hug. There now, doesn’t that feel better? I’m feeling glad. It really did help. Thanks guys. And ladies, would you believe me if I told you that I’ve worked really hard in these last few days. One of my clients seems to think so. Otherwise, why would she have rewarded me with another stimulating health-oriented project file to work on? You know, one of the nicest things about this job is the discoveries you make along the way while doing your reading and research for articles you might want to write.
It seems to have helped me. It’s given me new ideas and a new sense of hope for the new year which is just around the corner. That thing about working hard I just told you about a moment ago? It’s highly encouraging for me at this point in time. I honestly believe that hard work does eventually get rewarded, even though it seems like it’s been years since I first started dreaming about the rewards. That’s one encouraging sign for me for next year. I seem to be able to motivate myself to get out of bed in the morning.
Sleeves rolled up, there’s work to be done. And one of the biggest tasks on our hands these days does seem to be improving our life situations and the way we look after ourselves each and every day. It’s a conundrum, I tell you. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Inside, you are saying, yes, I want to get into shape, but by the time you arrive home from work later that night, all you want to do is flop down into your couch and go to sleep.
